SONY seems to be taking its first tentative steps at seeing if there will be a demand for a video version of iTunes, Apple's popular music download service. And it's starting with its PlayStation Portable (PSP) handheld gaming machine.

It recently announced a tie-up with ABC News and Atom Films to provide free downloadable video content that can be stored and viewed on the PSP, similar to podcast content popular with bloggers and owners of MP3 players.
