인터넷TV Joost 이용자 200만명 돌파

10월1일 Joost가 공식적으로 서비스를 런칭한 이후 Joost 애플리케이션은 하루평균 10만건 이상의 다운로드를 기록했으며, 이미 200만명 이상이 서비스 이용을 위해 애플리케이션을 다운로드 받았다고 밝혔다.

Joost, 베타 유저 100만명 가입

Kazaa 그리고 Skype를 만든 팀에 의해 제작된 Joost는 미디어 회사 Viacom등에서 투자를 받고 다양한 파트너사와 제휴하고 있다.
 
현재 100만명 이상의 베타 유저가 쥬스트에 가입하였다. 테스트 용으로 전세계에서 100만 유저가 가입하고 사용해 보고 있는 것이다. 이 사용자들이 쥬스트를 더욱 성장해 나가게 할것이다.

새로운 채널도 많이 늘어났고 버퍼링도 비교적 안정화 되었으며 한글 윈도우에서 일어나던 버그도 없어졌네요.

새로운 인터넷 TV Babelgum

Joost 에 이어 PC에서 마치 TV를 사용하는것 같은 미디어 프로그램이 있어 소개한다.

이름하여 Babelgum (발음은 바벨껌인가? ^^)

이미 이 프로그램을 본것은 꽤 되는데. 그동안 사이트를 잊고 있었다가, 오늘에서야 다시 찾았다.

요즘들어 Joost 에서 재생이 안되고, 새로운 프로그램도 없고 해서 망해가고 있나 해서 이런 TV가 잘 안되나 했는데, 새로운 어플을 찾게 되어 기쁘다.

오히려 사이트를 살펴보면 Joost보다 더 오래된 회사이며, 프로그램의 완성도도 더 높은것 같다. (자세히 어느것이 먼저인지는 모르겠다.)

아일랜드에 본사가 있는 Babel Network 이라는 회사에서 만든 프로그램으로 회사는 2005년 창업됐으며, 이탈리아, 영국, 미국및 프랑스에 사무실이 있는 국제적인 회사이다.

프로그램은  TV와 Video 및 검색 메뉴가 있으며, TV는 9개의 카테고리로 구분되어 찾기 쉽게 되어있고, 원하는 영상은 Video메뉴에서 리스트로 만들어 관리할 수 있게 되어있다. 또한 태그도 지원된다.

리모콘 모양의 네비게이션 메뉴가 있어서 마치 TV조작하는것 같은 편안함을 주며, 추후 실제 외장 리모트 컨트롤이 나와 TV를 대체하면 좋을것 같다.

직업이 직업인 이상 프로그램 내부적으로 한번 보았다.
요즘 QT가 유행인가 보다. "와~ 멋지다" 하는 UI를 가진 어플리케이션을 보면 대부분 QT로 짜여있다. 크로스 플랫폼을 지원한다는 강점이 있어서일까? 각종 출력 부분을 자바스크립트로 조절할 수 있는 부분이며 많은 유동성이 있는 QT가 곧 대세가 될듯한다.


이젠 한국에서도 이런 프로그램 하나 나올때가 됐는데~~

주스트는 카자, 스카이프와 한 형제=그렇다면 혜성처럼 나타난 주스트는 과연 어떻게 탄생한 것일까요? 주스트의 설립자는 북유럽 출신의 니클라스 젠스트룀(Niklas Zennstroem)과 야누스 프리스(Janus Friis)입니다. 어디선가 많이 들어 본 이름이라고요? 그렇습니다. 세계적인 인터넷전화(VoIP) 업체인 스카이프(Skype)의 창업자인 젠스트룀과 프리스, 바로 그들입니다. 이들은 스카이프 설립 이전에 파일 공유 사이트인 카자(KaZaA)를 만들어 내기도 한 재주꾼들입니다.

카자와 스카이프, 주스트 모두 P2P 기술에 기반 한다는 점에서 같은 혈통이라고 할 수 있습니다. 젠스트룀과 프리스는 시대 흐름에 발맞춰 적절한 기술 변용을 통해 다르지만 전혀 무관하지는 않은 서비스들을 내놓고 있는 것입니다.

이들 두 사람은 지난해 10월 `베니스 프로젝트'라는 이름의 개발 계획을 처음 공개하고 12월부터 비공개 베타서비스를 진행해 왔습니다. 이어 올해 초, 베니스 프로젝트는 주스트로 이름을 바꾸어 지금에 이른 것입니다.

덧, 조사는 많이 한것 같다. 제발 곰TV 같은 것과 비교하지 말것.. 개념상 전혀 다른 것이다. 자료 수집도 중요하지만 한번 사용해보는 것이 더 중요 할듯.

KaZaA에서 출발해서 Skype로 성공... 그리고 Joost까지 오게 되었다. 기술 또한 최고라 해도 무방할 것이다. 방화벽 통과율 90%...

비교 대상은 아프라카나 다음 라이브 정도로 하는 것이 좋을 듯~~
